Cincinnati Starts Fast, Ends With Another Win
Darnell Burton scored all of his 11 points in a 19-2 game-opening run Thursday night that swept No. 19 Cincinnati to its seventh straight win, an 81-60 victory over Dayton.
Burton, a key figure in Cincinnati’s longest winning streak in two years, hit three 3-pointers and two free throws in the 4-minute spurt. Cincinnati (5-0 Great Midwest, 15-5) led by double digits the rest of the way.

At Columbia, Mo., Paul O’Liney missed his first five free throws and then hit 13 in a row, including eight straight in the final 2 minutes as the Tigers rallied from a 12-point deficit to beat the Buffaloes (1-3 Big Eight, 10-5) for the 23rd straight time at home.
A free throw by Scott Combs gave the Tigers (3-2, 14-3) a 78-73 lead with 37 seconds to go, but 3-point buckets by Colorado’s Mack Tuck and Donnie Boyce made it 80-79 with 16 seconds left.

At Las Cruces, N.M., Rodney Walker made all three of his 3-point attempts and scored 20 points in leading the Aggies (5-2 Big West, 14-4) past the Spartans (0-8, 1-15).
