Motorcyclist Forced Off Road, Injured
A California man was hospitalized in fair condition Sunday morning after his motorcycle was forced off U.S. Highway 12 near Lolo Pass.
William Sampson, 29, of Diamond Bar, Calif., was rounding a bend about 8:20 a.m. when the accident happened. He told the Idaho State Police that an oncoming pickup truck towing a horse trailer was over the center line and forced him off the road. The crash was about 16 miles west of the Montana border.
Sampson’s 1992 Kawasaki motorcycle went off the road and crashed. He was thrown from the bike, fracturing his leg.
Sampson was taken by ambulance to Community Medical Center in Missoula.
The pickup truck did not stop.
