Two Jailed After Pot Plants Found In Basement Of House
A Spokane Valley man and woman were arrested Wednesday evening after sheriff’s deputies raided their home and discovered dozens of marijuana plants in the basement.
Beau Doherty, 25, and Carolina Holgin, 27, were arrested about 8 p.m. on charges of manufacturing a controlled substance at the home they share at 9208 E. Broadway, sheriff’s Lt. David Wiyrick said.
A SWAT team and several undercover deputies issued a search warrant at the home and found 88 marijuana plants, Wiyrick said.
Drug investigators got a tip that the couple was growing marijuana in their basement. The SWAT team was used because the sheriff’s department had learned that some of the couple’s “associates” were armed and might be dangerous.
Doherty and Holgin were being held without bond at the Spokane County Jail late Wednesday.
