Expensive Bicycle Taken From Rider

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man pushed a bicyclist off his mountain bike in front of a downtown Spokane restaurant early Saturday and pedaled off with the bike.

The victim, 36, told police he was in front of Flaherty’s at 514 W. Sprague about 2 a.m. when the theft occurred. The thief said “thank you” and fled north on Washington, police said.

The thief was described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and thin, with brown, shoulder-length hair. He said the man was in his 20s and wore a black shirt and blue jeans.

Police did not identify the victim, who was not injured. He lost a Waterford custom mountain bike, which he estimated was worth $4,000.
