Compiled From Wire Services

Marco Pantani earned his second stage victory of the Tour de France, and Miguel Indurain held the overall lead as the race came to the edge of the Pyrenees.

Pantani attacked as the pack started the last 25 miles of the 14th stage with four climbs of varying degrees on the 101-mile leg from St. Orens de Gameville to GuzetNeige.

With rain and fog over the last hour of the race, Pantani won by about 2 minutes, 30 seconds over Laurent Madouas of France.
