Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 19-year-old Othello, Wash., man faces drug charges in Idaho after a police dog sniffed out methamphetamine in his car.

Christopher E. Varga was stopped by a Pinehurst police officer at 3:30 p.m. Sunday for a minor traffic violation.

Varga was arrested for allegedly driving a car without privileges, according to the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Department.

While searching the car, the police officer saw what he thought was a controlled substance and called in the county sheriff’s department.

A deputy responded, along with Zipper, a specially trained narcotics dog. Zipper sniffed out a large amount of what is believed to be methamphetamine.

Varga was booked into the county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug trafficking. , DataTimes
