Annie McNemar Cheney

Service for Annie Mae McNemar, 81, will be at 11 a.m. today at Cheney Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Cheney.

Mrs. McNemar, who died Monday, was born in Biloxi, Miss.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, James and John McNemar, both of Redding, Calif., Allan McNemar of Gautier, Miss., and Glynn McNemar of Glenns Ferry, Idaho; three daughters, Dorothy Adamson of Reno, Nev., Kathy Pitts of Cheney and Sheila Policari of Citrus Springs, Fla.; one brother, Joe Clark of Huntington Park, Calif.; 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Alice Weisbeck Greenacres

Rosary for Alice M. Weisbeck, 76, is set for 7:30 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Memorial Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Weisbeck, who died Tuesday, was born in Lead, S.D. She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 60 years.

She was a member of East Bowl League and the Senior Belles.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Peter Weisbeck; eight sons, the Rev. Paul Weisbeck of Milpitas, Calif., John Weisbeck of Greenacres, Stanley Weisbeck of Spokane, Richard Weisbeck of Rapid City, S.D., Robert Weisbeck of Greenacres, Joseph Weisbeck of Seattle, Dave Weisbeck of Millwood and Mathew Weisbeck of Enumclaw, Wash.; three daughters, Cathy Weisbeck of Grand Rapids, Mich., Loretta Goeller of Santa Fe, N.M., and Vicki Vigil of Seattle; three sisters, Agnes Braithwaite of Riverton, Utah, and Ella Caves and Mabel Hooper, both of Spokane; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Wandina Knesal Tacoma

Service for Wandina (Zerbst) Knesal, 93, is planned for 1 p.m. today at Point Defiance Christian Assembly Church in Tacoma. Burial will be at New Tacoma Cemetery. Gaffney, Cassedy, Allen and Buckley King Funeral Home in Tacoma is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Knesal, who died Saturday, was born in Jolliet, Wis.

She worked at The Crescent in Spokane for many years.

She later lived in Montana before moving to Tacoma in 1976. Her husband, Albert Knesal, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Knesal Sr. of Eatonville, Wash., and Arthur Knesal of Kent, Wash.; two daughters, Helen Sheridan of Tacoma and Cathy Kuntz of Yakima; one brother, Victor Zerbst of Lacey, Wash.; two sisters, Peggy Miller of Spokane and Elsie McGrady of Burlingame, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel Grable Spokane

Service for Hazel M. Grable, 95, will be at 10 a.m. today at Riverside Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Grable, who died Sunday, was born in Nebraska.

A homemaker, Mrs. Grable had lived in Spokane for 75 years. Her husband, Raymond Grable, died in 1978.

She is survived by one daughter, Norma Toedtemeier of Salem, Ore.; two stepchildren, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Lester Jones Potlatch, Idaho

Graveside service for Lester R. Jones, 74, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jones died Sunday from an apparent heart attack while on a fishing trip in Montana.

He was born in the Deep Creek area near Potlatch.

He served in the Army during World War II, and he and his wife, Lois Jones, settled in Potlatch following the war.

They opened Jones Service Station in Onaway, Idaho, and later relocated the station to the Potlatch Y. They operated the business in Potlatch for more than 30 years.

His wife died in 1990 and Mr. Jones partially retired.

He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Odelin of Onaway; two sons, Kim Jones of Potlatch and Rick Jones of Lapwai, Idaho; one daughter, Dorothy Baldridge of Potlatch; three sisters, Wanetta “Nita” Carolus of Deer Park, Lucille Kelly of Kent, Wash., and Loretta Bradley of Renton, Wash.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Potlatch Ambulance Fund.

Dorothy Riley Spokane

Memorial service for Dorothy C. Riley, 75, will be at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. There will be private inurnment. HennesseySmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Wolf Point, Mont., Mrs. Riley died Friday.

She graduated from Holy Names Academy Class and Spokane Community College.

She had lived in Spokane for 60 years and worked as an interviewer for Washington State Employment Security.

Mrs. Riley was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Gonzaga University Guild and Miryam’s House of Transition.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Nystuen of Veradale and James Nystuen of Seattle; one daughter, Michelle Nystuen of Spokane; one brother, Thomas Riley of Phoenix; two sisters, Edith Miller of Spokane and Marguerite “Babe” Markle of Seattle; and one granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Cora ‘Mickey’ Wormell Spokane

Graveside service for Cora Mae “Mickey” Wormell, 80, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mount Hope Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wormell, who died Sunday at St. Brendan Nursing Home, was born in Roblin, Manitoba.

She had lived in Spokane for 67 years and operated the Chester Grocery Store with her husband in 1955 and 1956.

She had been a housekeeper and live-in caregiver. From 1975 until 1993 she was a foster grandparent at Lakeland Village. She was Foster Grandparent of the Year in 1990.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Louis Erickson and Leslie Wormell.

She is survived by five sons, Robert Erickson of Renton, Wash., Richard Erickson of Garfield, Wash., Kenneth Erickson of Walla Walla, and John and James Wormell, both of Elk; one brother, Leo Peterson of Lebanon, Ore.; three sisters, Joanne Arveson of Portland, Myrtle Wyrick of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Marie Hargrove of Texas; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Rita McBride Spokane

Memorial service for Rita McBride, 74, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riverside Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McBride, who died Monday, was born in Wales and had lived in Spokane for 49 years.

She and her husband, Del, owned the McBride Wholesale Candy, Tobacco business from 1970 to 1985.

Most recently she worked at Cronin’s Hallmark.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Diane Haight of Manassas, Va.; one son, Robert Gallagher of Spokane; one stepson, Michael McBride of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Alma Janett Davenport, Wash.

Memorial service for Alma Janett, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Reardan (Wash.) Presbyterian Church. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Janett, who died Sunday, was born in Madison, Ohio.

She was a homemaker and formerly lived in Reardan.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Spring Creek Grange and Reardan Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Gwen Schultz of Austin, Texas; and one grandson.

Harold Haugen Spokane

Service for Harold N. Haugen, 81, is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Haugen, died Monday from cancer.

Born in Medina, N.D., he had served in the Navy during World War II and lived in Spokane since 1946.

He worked at the Ridpath Hotel for many years as a chief mechanical engineer.

Mr. Haugen is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline Haugen; one sister, Mae Monson of Cooperstown, N.D.; and one brother, Joseph Haugen of Langdon, N.D.

Delia Johnson Medical Lake

Service for Delia E. Johnson, 84, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ball and Dodd Medical Lake Funeral Home. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Johnson, who was born in Michigan, N.D., died Sunday.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Medical Lake since 1942.

Her husband, Sidney Johnson, died in 1989.

She is survived by two daughters, Fern Revill of Medical Lake and Lois Claflin of Hood River, Ore.; three sisters, two brothers, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Hugh Lannen Spokane

Memorial service for Hugh Charles Lannen, 79, will be at 4 p.m. Friday at 4236 E. Hartson. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lannen, who was born in Ziebach County, S.D., died last Friday.

He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Black Hills in 1934 and 1935 and worked at the Bunker Hill smelter in 1940.

In late 1941, he went to Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

He served in the Army during World War II and moved to Spokane following the war.

He worked as a carpenter in commercial building and retired in 1977.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Irene; two daughters, Karen Harrison of New Bern, N.C., and Kathleen Lannen of Spokane; one stepson, Ronald Steele of San Diego; two sisters, Katherine Medeiros of Los Angeles and Anne Lannen of Spokane; and one brother, Peter Lannen of Spokane.

Koralee Dixon Spokane

Memorial service for Koralee Lynn Dixon, 21, is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral HomeNorth.

Miss Dixon’s body was found June 28 in Red Lake near Tum Tum, Wash. Her death is being investigated as a murder.

She was born in Spokane and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1992 and also from cosmetology school.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Randy and Bonnie Dixon of Auburn, Wash.; her mother and stepfather, Linda and Rick Jacobsen of Spokane; one brother, Sielas Dixon of Spokane; three half-sisters, Jamie and Stacie Dixon, and Kristen Jacobsen, all of Spokane; and her grandparents, Paul and Betty Dixon, and Luverne and Theresa Houim, all of Spokane.

Dennis Thompson Spokane

Service for Dennis I. Thompson, 59, is planned for noon Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home with burial to follow at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson, who was born in Minot, N.D., died Tuesday.

He graduated from Rogers High School in 1955. He worked at McCormick’s Garage as a mechanic and then at Hillyard Processing for 20 years. He retired in 1984.

He had lived in Spokane for 57 years.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Katherine Thompson; his mother, Donna Thompson of Spokane; two daughters, Nancy Stong of Spokane and Linda Bradley of Greenacres; one son, Chad Thompson of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; two brothers, Mike Thompson of Spokane and Wayne Thompson of Mead; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
