Adelle Weishaar Spokane

Vigil service for Adelle E. Weishaar, 86, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Weishaar, a lifetime Spokane resident, died July 20.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Anthony Parish and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Discovery Store.

Her husband, Jacob Weishaar, died in 1990.

She is survived by one sister, Josephine Allison of Spokane; one brother, Ernie Thomas of Auburn, Wash.; three sons, Bob Weishaar of Athol, Idaho, and George and Tom Weishaar, both of Spokane; two daughters, Barbara Leavenworth of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Marilyn Vollmer of Spokane; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, five stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Gladys Madson Spokane

Service for Gladys R. Madson, 91, is set for 1 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Madson, who was born in Portland, died Saturday.

She had lived in Spokane since 1955 and owned Le Del’s dress shop from 1959 to 1971.

She had donated more than 1,100 hours of volunteer work at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Mrs. Madson was a member of the World War I Veterans Auxiliary and Col. George Wright Women’s Auxiliary 1820 and was a charter member of the Sinto Senior Center.

Two husbands preceded her in death: Roy Holm in 1954 and Carl Madson in 1985.

She is survived by one son, Edward Holm of Boise; one sister, Jean Dunaway of Williams Lake, British Columbia; one brother, Bill Shanon of Anaheim, Calif.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Jimme Jean McQuiston Creston, Wash.

Service for Jimme Jean McQuiston, 67, is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Creston Christian Church with burial at Sherman Cemetery in Wilbur, Wash. Strate Funeral Home of Wilbur is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McQuiston, who was born in Wilbur, died Tuesday in Davenport, Wash.

She was a 1945 Creston High School graduate.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Creston Civic Club, Creston Christian Church and the Wilbur Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 6268.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Glenn McQuiston; one son, Otto McQuiston of Port Orchard, Wash.; three daughters, Glenda Taylor of Wilbur, Eula Bretland of Camano Island, Wash., and Ardis Gillaspy of Sequim, Wash.; two brothers, Merle Simons of Coulee City, Wash., and Donald Simons of Spokane; two sisters, Merleen Stagner of Texas and Louise Potter of Oregon; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Creston Ambulance Fund.

Ernest Pratt Spokane

Memorial service for Ernest M. Pratt, 65, will be at 12:30 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.

Born in Missouri, Mr. Pratt died Wednesday.

He moved to Missoula when he was young and graduated from high school there.

In 1962 he moved to Spokane and worked in the service department at Valley Volkswagen.

For the past 10 years, he and his wife wintered in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marjorie Pratt; three sons, Marvin, Lance and Chris Pratt, and two daughters, Dawn Burton and Lori Pratt, all of Spokane; one sister, Esther Torrence of Mead; and eight grandchildren.

Estelle Rowan Spokane

Graveside service for Estelle Rowan, 78, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rowan died Monday.

She was born in Norman, Okla., and moved to Spokane 40 years ago.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474 Auxiliary.

Her husband, Roger Rowan died in 1992.

Mrs. Rowan is survived by two sons, Ryck Rowan of East Wenatchee, Wash., and Martin Rowan of Keller, Texas; one daughter, Anne Senst of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, James Edge of Norman, Okla.; one sister, Rheta Schuerhoff of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

Linda Olstad Spokane

Memorial service for Linda Olstad, 62, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Private inurnment is planned.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Olstad died last Saturday.

Mrs. Olstad was a medical transcriptionist for 20 years. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at Washington State University.

She was the great-greatgranddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Havermale, Spokane pioneers.

Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Olstad of Elk; one daughter, Lisa Votava of Nordman, Idaho; her mother, Betty Devine of Spokane; and two grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Kathryn Erickson Deer Park

Service for Kathryn Lea Erickson, 66, is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Open Door Congregational Church in Deer Park. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home of Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Erickson, who died Tuesday, was born in Ismay, Mont.

She graduated from Deer Park High School in 1947 and had been a bookkeeper at Louis Olson Building Supply and for the city of Deer Park. She also had worked at the Tri-County Tribune.

She was a member of Open Door Congregational Church.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Erickson; a daughter, Barbara Bogdan of Lake Oswego, Ore.; two sons, Paul Erickson of Hazlet, N.J., and Robert Erickson of Federal Way, Wash.; a sister, Lora Curry of Kingston, Wash.; a twin brother, Kenneth Fisher of Lewiston; and eight grandchildren.

Wyman Thompson Florence, Ariz.

Funeral service for Wyman Ralph Thompson, 71, will be at a later date. Bunker’s Garden Chapel of Mesa, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Outlook, Mont., Mr. Thompson died last Friday.

He lived in Washington before moving to Arizona in 1993.

Mr. Thompson worked for Kaiser Aluminum and had served in the Army.

His survivors include his wife, Lucille Thompson; three sons, Richard Barnette of Veradale, Kenneth Barnette of Spokane and Donald Barnette of Dayton, Ore.; two daughters, Jacquline Foster of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Debra Hogan of Spokane; two brothers, Rex and Norman Thompson, both of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Harold Vogt Spokane

Memorial service for Harold W. Vogt, 67, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Pines Mausoleum. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Vogt, a 28-year Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

Born in Teaneck, N.J., he served in the Army during the Korean War.

He worked for International Telephone and Telegraph Corp. for 15 years and retired from American Sign and Indicator after 19 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Virginia Barrigan of Pomona, Kan.; three sons, William Vogt of Denton, Texas, and Richard and Michael Vogt, both of Spokane; his companion, Betty English; one brother, Gilbert Vogt of Long Island, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Charles Holloway Sr. Spokane

Service for Charles H. Holloway Sr., 84, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, Wash.

Mr. Holloway died July 20.

He was born in Homestead, Pa.

He lived in Spokane for 32 years and worked in maintenance for The Crescent, Spokane School District 81 and the Fairchild Air Force Base Exchange.

He served in the Air Force during World War II and retired in 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Holloway; three sons, James, Thomas and Charles Holloway Jr.; and three grandchildren.

Margaret Moore Colfax, Wash.

Service for Margaret Moore, 75, is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Colfax Nazarene Church. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Moore died Tuesday at Whitman Convalescent Center in Colfax.

She was born in Nampa, Idaho, where she graduated from high school.

She and her husband, Wesley Moore, settled in Colfax, and she worked as a veterinarian assistant for Dr. Richard Long for about 10 years.

They moved to Walla Walla in 1966 and then to Sunnyside, Wash. Mr. Moore husband died in 1977, and Mrs. Moore returned to Colfax.

She is survived by one daughter, Danielle Klaveano of Thornton, Wash.; two sons, John Moore of Wenatchee and Byron Tapp of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

Glen Fronsman Colville, Wash.

Service for Glen Albert Fronsman, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville. Burial will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery, Colville.

Mr. Fronsman, who died Tuesday, was born in Mount Vernon, Wash.

He farmed near White Lake near Colville for more than 30 years and raised beef, hay and grain.

He and his wife, Carrie, sold their farm in 1964 and moved into Colville. Mrs. Fronsman died three years ago.

Mr. Fronsman was a member of the White Lake Grange, the Colville Senior Citizens and the Golden Age Club of Colville.

He is survived by two daughters, Betty Byrd of Colville and Dorothy Irwin of Moses Lake; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Olga ‘Tillie’ Wester Jamestown, N.D.

Service for Olga Mathilda “Tillie” Wester, 87, was held in North Dakota. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane.

Mrs. Wester, who was born in Milan, Minn., died July 15 at Hi Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.

She came to Spokane in 1950 and worked at Truck Town as a manager for many years. She had also worked as a cook at the Town and Country Restaurant and at Hands bus stop in Ritzville.

She is survived by two sisters, Elsa Walker and Sylvia Nutt, both of Wimbledon, N.D.
