Graff Leads Public Links Qualifiers

Three area women have qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links National Championship golf tournament June 21-25 in Virginia.

Heather Graff, Britney Holt and Marcy Holt finished 1-2-3, respectively, in a qualifying tournament Friday at 6,050-yard Wandermere Golf Course.

Graff, from Richland, led the scoring with a 70. Britney Holt, a Mead High School senior, was second at 75, followed by her mother, Marcy Holt, at 76.

Other finishers were Cathy Cunningham (78), Nicole Materne (78) and Megan Thrash (80).

Telethon

For a fourth straight year, Bobby Brett, president of the Spokane Indians baseball team and Chiefs hockey team, is honorary chairman of the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, which runs from 6 p.m. today until 3 p.m. Sunday on KHQ-TV (Channel 6 in Spokane).
