Earth First! Adopts Part Of Idaho Road

Environmental activists planning to protest road building and logging in the Cove-Mallard area this summer began this season’s campaign doing the same thing many Scout troops and churches do - cleaning up the highway.

Robert (Ramon) Amon, currently living in Missoula, said about 50 people gathered recently for a fourday rendezvous to discuss the CoveMallard campaign, do some whitewater rafting and join in the highway cleanup project.

Just past the Lochsa Lodge near Powell along U.S. Highway 12, an adopt-a-highway sign designates a three-mile stretch to Friends of Earth First!
