Four Shot, Killed For Mosque Attack
Police shot and killed four men Monday who were wanted for a weekend attack on a mosque in which nine people died.
The men, all suspected Muslim extremists, were killed in a shootout after police discovered their hideout in the village of Tanda, 162 miles south of Cairo in el-Minya province, security officials said.
The men were accused of involvement in an attack Saturday on the Zawiya mosque in Tanda in which nine people, including a 13-year-old boy, were killed and three wounded.
Police said at the time the attackers were apparently avenging an earlier killing.
