Chemical Beakers Found In Storage Unit

Associated Press

Spokane County sheriff’s deputies raided a Valley storage unit early Wednesday, finding two beakers containing chemicals.

Deputies called the fire department’s hazardous materials unit to ABC Mini-Storage at 11506 E. Indiana after a chemical odor raised suspicions of a drug lab.

Members of the team removed a red cooler which contained three chemical beakers, two of which had liquid in them, according to detective Dave Martin.

Members from the Washington State Patrol crime lab tested the substance. Results of the tests were not released, but Martin said there was no indication the chemicals were drug-related.

Sheriff’s deputies were serving a search warrant for a stolen motorcycle believed to be in the storage unit when they found the chemicals. The bike was found in the shed, partially disassembled.
