Dorothy McNearney Spokane
Service for Dorothy Myers McNearney, 70, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home with burial at 2 p.m. Friday at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, Wash.
Mrs. McNearney, who was born in Colville, died Tuesday.
A homemaker, she had lived in Spokane since 1952.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Myers in 1980 and Doug McNearney in 1994.
She is survived by two sons, Cliff Myers of Mead and Bill Myers of Spokane; one stepson, Doug McNearney of Pinehurst, Idaho; two daughters, Midge Michael of Heppner, Ore., and Terryl Skinner of Spokane; three stepdaughters, Shirley Buscher, Joyce Schillam and Jan Janke, all of Colville; two brothers, Jack Ritchey of Spokane and Floyd Moore of Cheney; one sister, Midge Schweitzer of Spokane; 42 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Robert Bishop Spokane
Graveside service for Robert G. Bishop, 74, is set for 3:30 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Bishop, who was born in Spokane, died May 10.
A graduate of Lewis and Clark High School, he served in the Army Air Corps in World War II.
He worked for the Washington State Highway Department for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife, Myra; three daughters, Sandra Magney of Spokane, Debra Leigh of Spokane and Rickie Esslinger of Fargo, N.D.; six stepsons, James Reed of Utah, Russell Reed of Twin Lakes, Idaho, Allen Reed of Seattle, Greg and Chris Reed, both of Spokane, and William Brinnon of Texas; one stepdaughter, Pamela Jappesen of Rathdrum, Idaho; two sisters, Gladys Elder of Spokane and Mae Smith of Bellingham; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Marian Munson Belvidere, Wash.
Graveside service for Marian E. Munson, 77, will be at 11 a.m. today at Spring Canyon Cemetery in Grand Coulee. Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Munson, who was born in Northport, Wash., died Tuesday at the Colville Tribal Convalescent Center in Nespelem, Wash.
She graduated from Kettle Falls High School.
She and her husband, Fritz Munson, operated a grocery store in Dayton, Wash., before they moved to Belvidere in 1961.
In Belvidere they operated a grocery store from 1961 until 1972.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Fritz; two sons, Terry Munson of Belvidere and Tom Munson of Spokane; and one grandson.
Ed Westerhoff Spokane
Memorial service for Ed Westerhoff, 54, is set for 11 a.m. today at Evergreen Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 14111 E. 16th. Burial will be at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens in Othello, Wash. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Westerhoff died Tuesday.
Born in Berkeley, Calif., he was a 22-year Spokane resident and was a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Penny Westerhoff; three daughters, Tammy Westerhoff, Cara Roush and Heidi Westerhoff; three brothers and three sisters and five grandchildren.
James Burke Spokane
Vigil service for the Rev. James M. Burke, 74, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Mount St. Michael’s Cemetery.
The Rev. Burke’s nephew, Kevin, will preside at the funeral Mass and his niece, Eileen, will coordinate the vigil service.
The Rev. Burke, who died Monday, was born in Wyoming.
He was ordained in 1954 and had lived and worked in Spokane for 12 years. He was the director of Focus in Spokane, a program for spiritual and ministerial renewal.
The Rev. Burke also had been involved with Marriage Encounter.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Klink of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and three brothers, Joseph and John Burke, both of Casper, Wyo., and William Burke of Sun City, Ariz.
Ethel Manke Spokane
Service for Ethel C. Manke, 94, will be at 11 a.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Manke, who died Tuesday, was born in Ritzville, Wash.
She worked on a farm with her husband and had worked at Lakeland Village for 10 years.
Her husband, Richard Manke, died in 1983.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Medical Lake and the Espinola Grange.
She is survived by one son, Richard Manke of Pasco; one daughter, Jean Mullin of Spokane; one sister, Evelyn Richens of Los Angeles; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Geneva Rainer Chewelah, Wash.
Service for Geneva June Rainer, 77, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Chewelah Catholic Cemetery. Schanzenbach Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rainer, who died Monday, was born in Sykeston, N.D.
A 49-year Chewelah resident, she had been a beautician in North Dakota and California.
She was a charter member of the Chewelah Women’s Bowling Association. She was a member of St. Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Al Rainer; two sons, Warren and Wayne Rainer, both of Spokane; three daughters, Donna Campbell of Colville, Wash., Paula Markham of Summit Valley, Wash., and Roma Kenyon of Chewelah; two brothers, Nobert Arendt of Modesto, Calif., and Jerry Arendt of Redlands, Calif.; two sisters, Kathryn Powell of Paradise, Calif., and Jean Brown of Medford, Ore.; and 12 grandchildren.
Barbara Snyder Spokane
Service for Barbara Mae (Lohrenz) Snyder, 71, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Washtucna (Wash.) Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Snyder, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday.
She was a longtime resident of Washtucna and lived at Hilltop Farms and the Bar U Ranch there.
She moved to Carmel, Calif., 17 years ago.
Her husband, Bill Snyder, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Aimee Snyder Witherspoon of Vancouver, Wash., and Barbara Snyder of Mill Creek, Wash.; two sons, Joe Snyder of Valleyford and Bill Snyder of Lake Creek, Idaho; and 14 grandchildren.
Helen Danforth Spokane
Memorial service for Helen M. Danforth, 97, is set for 10 a.m. Monday at Fowler United Methodist Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Danforth died May 31.
She was born in Kansas and had lived in Spokane for 77 years. She was a pattern maker in a garment factory.
Mrs. Danforth volunteered for more than 50 years with Day Out for the Blind.
Her husband, Henry Danforth, died in 1974.
She is survived by one daughter, Peg Zimmerman of Spokane; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Margaret Lekstrum Greenacres
No service will be held for Margaret R. Lekstrum. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lekstrum, 57, died Sunday.
She was born in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Lekstrum, a Realtor, lived in Spokane for 12 years.
She was a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Washington State Realtors.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Marvin Lekstrum; two daughters, Valarie Lekstrum of Spokane and Tamara Lekstrum of Vancouver, Wash.; one sister, Helen Brehm of Cameron Park, Calif.; one grandson and one granddaughter.
William White Sandpoint
Private family service was held for William V. White, 91. Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. White, who was born in Cohasset, Minn., died May 30.
He grew up in Washington and worked for the Spokane Chronicle and The Spokesman-Review before World War II. He worked for the Maritime Service in Portland during the war and operated the Lamb Creek Inn in Priest Lake until 1960.
Mr. White managed the Priest Lake Golf Course until his retirement in 1962.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and was an avid bowler who belonged to several bowling leagues in the Inland Northwest.
His wife, Elinor, died in 1984.
Survivors include one daughter, Mavis Bliss of Spokane; two brothers, Harry White of Newport, Wash., and Melvin White of Fontana, Calif.; and one sister, Elta Cooley of Spokane.

Marguerite James Spokane
Memorial service for Marguerite Theresa (Myers) James, 82, is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at First Church of the Open Bible, where she was a member.
Mrs. James, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Monday at St. Brendan’s Continuing Care Center.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Cheney Normal School. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse near Odessa, Wash., during the 1930s.
Mrs. James, a pianist, accompanied the church choir.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dayl James; two daughters, Bev Sturdevant and Lynn Gurley, both of Spokane; one sister, Evelyn Colwell of Ephrata, Wash.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
