Woman Turns $4 Into $800,000

Compiled From Wire Services

A Renton businesswoman who spent $4 on Quinto tickets has claimed Wednesday’s $800,000 cashpot.

Susan Brune, 40, and her husband, Tom, don’t quite know what to do with their good fortune, but are thinking about paying off their mortgage and buying a new car, said Washington State Lottery spokesman Richard Paulson.

Brune said winning gives her “a feeling of security,” and that she may go back to school full time for a teaching degree.

Brune, who owns a small business in the transportation industry, received a check Thursday for $576,000 after 28 percent federal tax withholding.

The Brunes bought the tickets at a Kent 7-Eleven.
