Meadowwood Golf Tournament Draws Capacity Field
MeadowWood Golf Course at Liberty Lake hosted the Women’s Weekender Tournament, the only Saturday-Sunday women’s tournament in the area.
This year’s third event drew a capacity field.
There were 144 participants in the twoperson Best Ball and Chapman event which included a Saturday night dinner and Sunday continental breakfast.
The North Side mother-daughter team of Marcy and Brittney Holt won this year’s event combining for low gross score.
Low net of the field went to Valleyites Noreen Sale and Lesa Hambleton.
Low gross flight winners were Sandy McLaughlin and Suzie Stone in first flight, Julie Scott and Patty Aunan in second flight, Marg Looney and Marge Hogan in third, Cindy Murray and Fran Hermanson in fourth, Lee Sonderman and Mary Gehrman in fifth.
Net leaders were Joy Aslett and Renee Mitchel in first flight, Linda Begler and Veronica Foltz in second, Shawn Triber and Linda Martin in third, Jill Rolfe and Linda Hough in fourth, Audry Vanos and Ethyl Rankin in fifth.
Valley View President’s Cup
During the second round of President’s Cup competition at Valley View Golf Course three new players earned low net recognition.
Anne Meyers had a 30 in A flight, Patsy Angelo a 32 in B flight and Mary Sjostrom shot 32 in C flight.
Hangman Valley Captain’s Cup
Needing only 26 putts during last week’s 18-hole Captain’s Cup competition for the Hangman Valley Ladies Club, Vivienne Symbol won the monthly round with a net 65.
She also won B flight putting competition. Other flight winners were Janet Lang and Ellen Boudewyns with 31 putts in A, Sue Henley with 36 in C and Joyce Mohler with 35 in D.
Numerous ties at Painted Hills
There were numerous ties during last week’s Painted Hills Ladies Club competition.
In A flight, Joan McGee and Carol McVicker shared low gross lead with 47. In C flight, three golfers, Elaine Lukes, Cheryl Winkler and Kathy Smith had 56s.
B flight low net was sahred by Pat Schlosstein and Debbie Marker with 34.
The day’s best score came in B flight where Maureen Williams shot 44, including a chip-in for a birdie on the second hole.
Other winners were Sonja Momb, A flight low net of 33, Leslie Zilka, C flight low net with 34.
