Information Sought On Missing Woman
Police are seeking information about a Belgian woman last seen in Spokane two years ago.
Michelle M. Champagne, 31, was reported missing after her parents and friends hadn’t heard from her. Her parents in Belgium last spoke with her in February 1993, after she’d returned to the United States from a trip home.
Authorities haven’t ruled out foul play, although police Detective George Benavidez said he has no evidence of it in her disappearance.
Champagne is believe to have placed her belongings, including her furniture, in a Spokane storage facility. The storage site has never been found.
Her last known address was the Starlight Motel on South Geiger Boulevard.
She broke up with an American boyfriend shortly after returning to Spokane in 1993. He is the last person known to have seen her, although he is not a suspect in her disappearance.
