Man, 75, Dies In Snowmobile Accident

A 75-year-old Ferndale man died after a snowmobile accident in the Swan Range, Lake County authorities said Thursday.

Leo Sudan died Wednesday after apparently being thrown from his snowmobile on a steep slope and then sliding about 100 yards downhill before hitting a tree, said Acting Coroner Paula Hill.

Three other riders were with him and summoned help.

His body was taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for an autopsy, Hill said.
