At a glance

Chiefs are on their next-to-last trip of the regular season, moving from here to Portland on Sunday night while the B tournament fills the Coliseum. Daniel was announced Thursday as the Chiefs’ Budget Player of the Year. The goaltender from Edmonton has faced more shots (1,934), played more minutes (3,231) and appeared in more games (58) than any goalie in the Western Hockey League. He’ll have to be at his best to keep the Chiefs in this one, for Kamloops has a score to settle. Blazers fans were stunned Feb. 24 in Kamloops when the Chiefs rallied from six goals down to win. That was the night coach Mike Babcock yanked Daniel and the Chiefs rallied behind backup ‘tender David Lemanowicz. Kamloops has wrapped up the WHL West Division title. Chiefs seem destined for fifth and a spot in the first round of the playoffs three weeks hence.
