Spokane Ties Kamloops, 3-3
The Spokane Chiefs continued their run of success against the Canadian Hockey League’s No. 1-ranked Kamloops Blazers, earning a 3-3 tie.
The Chiefs, 3-3-2 for the season against Kamloops, scored the first two goals of the game and held off a Blazers comeback Friday night in Western Hockey League play.
Spokane’s Jeremy Stasiuk scored the first two goals of the game. The first, unassisted, came with :27 left in the first period. The second, on a pass from Joel Boschman, came at 1:06 of the second.
Kamloops scored three straight in the second period to take a 3-2 lead. The goals came from Nolan Baumgartner, Shane Doan and Donnie Kinney. John Cirjak then tied it at 3.
Chiefs goalie Jarrod Daniel rebounded from a terrible performance in a 8-7 win over the Blazers last Friday with 38 saves. In that game, Daniel was pulled in the first period after allowing five goals.
