Volunteers Discover Burglarized Home

Two senior citizen volunteers for the Spokane Police Department discovered a burglary at a house on the 3700 block of East Third.

The volunteers work with the department’s “Vacation Home Check” program. Two seniors go to addresses where residents are away and check doors, windows and garages on a daily basis. There is no charge for the service.

Thursday morning the volunteers found the home on East Third had been entered through a rear window. The burglar took electronics and ransacked drawers throughout the home.
