Fairchild Airman Arrested For Allegedly Waving Gun
An airman from Fairchild Air Force Base was arrested Tuesday after allegedly waving a gun at a driver on Interstate 90, the Washington State Patrol said.
Richard T. Ross, 26, was booked into the Spokane County Jail for reckless endangerment and intimidation with a weapon. He was released to Fairchild police officials late Tuesday.
A driver called 911 from his cellular phone shortly before 4 p.m. and said a man in a white Camaro waved a gun at him. Both drivers were eastbound on I-90 near Argonne, the WSP said.
Trooper Mike Shaw spotted both cars near Pines and pulled over the Camaro. He and another trooper ordered the driver out at gunpoint, searched the car and found a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun in the center console.
The other driver, 37, identified Ross as the man who waved the gun at him.
The victim, who was not identified by authorities, told troopers Ross pulled up behind him on the interstate and tailgated him for several miles until he changed lanes. Then Ross pulled ahead of the victim, held up the gun and waved it at him, troopers said.
