Rural County To Name Streets
Rural Ferry County residents have a chance to leave their mark in history.
Public officials want to name all the private roads in the county with houses on them so sheriff’s deputies, firefighters and ambulance crews can find them. So they’re asking the residents to suggest names.
For some, that may be an opportunity to immortalize themselves.
Residents who live on unnamed private roads are asked to send their suggestions, along with a sketch showing where the road is, to: Ferry County Planning Department, P.O. Box 305, Republic, Wash., 99166.
The Planning Department also is looking for groups to help distribute information about the 911 project. To volunteer, call Lynnette Fritts at (509) 775-5209.
