Alpine skiing

“Rip the Ungroomed” at Schweitzer’s Advanced Snowboarding Clinic tomorrow from 1-3pm. Info: (800) 831-8810.

Nordic skiing

Heavy rain and warm temperatures may create poor skiing conditions this weekend, even though some trails were groomed Wednesday night.

Unless a major snow falls, 4th of July Pass, Geophysical and Upper Wolf trails are closed for the season.

The Methow Valley has groomed 165km of trails and reports excellent spring skiing conditions. Patterson Lake, Raider trail and Wolf Ridge to Winthrop are now closed for the season.

Backcountry skiers will find excellent coverage and firm conditions on Sherman Pass especially in higher elevations. Caution: avalanche danger is high. Hotline: (208)765-7323.

Snowmobiling

Grooming operations in the Spokane area are done for the season.

Avoid the skimpy snowpack at the south end of Priest Lake. The Granite Pass trail on the north side was groomed to give sledders access to high country.

Trails in the Methow Valley are still being groomed and conditions are good. Don’t miss the hill climb this weekend. Update: (509)422-7324.
