Cfl Drafts Ewu Tackle

Eastern Washington University defensive tackle Troy Alexander, an Edmonton native, was selected fourth overall by Saskatchewan in Saturday’s Canadian Football League draft.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Alexander, known for his strength and quick feet, was named to the 1994 All-Big Sky Conference second team.

Hamilton started the sevenround, 55-player draft by selecting Western Michigan offensive tackle Tom Nutten. Boise State linebacker Stefan Reid was the second pick, drafted by Ottawa.

Idaho wrestling

Three of four Sandpoint High School wrestlers captured individual championships at Moscow, Idaho, as the Bulldogs won their second straight State A-1 championship.

Sandpoint piled up 173.5 points, topping runner-up Capital by 49 points. Lewiston finished fifth with 95 points and Post Falls tied for seventh with Nampa at 65.

Bulldogs gold medalists included freshman Jared Lawrence at 103 pounds; his brother Brett, a junior, at 119, and sophomore Pat Larson at 140.
