Electrical Fire Damages Ibm

An electrical fire caused extensive smoke damage to IBM’s corporate headquarters, the company said Saturday.

There were no injuries in the fire that began about 7:30 p.m. Friday, after most of the 800 workers had left.

Cleanup will take several days and the building will not be open Monday.

The most serious damage was to a basement office, where a faulty light is believed to have started the fire, Wilson said.
