Stanford Holds Off UW For Ninth Straight Win, 55-50

Kristin Folkl scored 15 of her 16 points in the second half Saturday to lead No. 5 Stanford to a 55-50 win over No. 14 Washington to conclude the regular season in Pacific-10 Conference basketball.
Earning its ninth straight win, the Cardinal (17-1, 26-2) held UW scoreless for the final 2 minutes and hit its last six free throws to hold off the Huskies (13-5, 23-8) before a capacity crowd of 7,900 at Hec Ed Pavilion.
Anita Kaplan grabbed 11 rebounds and Folkl had 10 to help the Cardinal to a 52-34 rebounding advantage.Stanford held a 28-22 lead at halftime.
