Elder Haynes Shoots Too

The father of Villanova senior point guard Jonathan Haynes was arrested by Madison Square Garden security when the derringer he was carrying slipped out of his pocket and discharged one shot.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, which occurred when Haynes was waiting to enter the arena. But Warren Haynes, 47, of Philadelphia, wound up spending most of Sunday afternoon at the Midtown South Precinct, police said.

Haynes will be charged with criminal possession of a weapon - in this case a two-shot derringer.
