Five Police Transfers Sworn In
Five police officers transferring from other Washington cities were sworn in Monday to the Spokane Police Department.
The men, who have graduated from the state’s police academy, will begin a 12-day training period on Spokane department policies. They also will have training in self-defense, working with police canines and firearms.
Police spokesman Dick Cottam said hiring the new officers will save the city money because their academy training costs already have been paid by previous employers.
The five officers are: Robbie S. Dashiell, 25, formerly of the Seattle Police Department; Isamu Yamada, Jr., 33, formerly of the Blaine Police Department; Bryan Tafoya, 27, formerly of the Ellensburg Police Department; Kristopher Honaker, 26, formerly of the Airway Heights Police Department; and David Adams, 24, formerly of the Oroville Police Department.
