Conference Helps Teens Make Choices

Just Do It or Just Say No?

Which is it?

These days, teens hear all kinds of conflicting messages. The Spokane Area Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Coalition wants to help teens sort it all out, so they’re holding “It’s Your Choice: Sexuality and Teen Pregnancy in the ‘90s.”

The conference, also sponsored by the Chase Youth Commission and the Spokane County Health District, is aimed at giving teens the information they need to make mature decisions. Workshops include discussions about loneliness, abusive relationships, suicide, date rape, abstinence and the realities of parenting at a young age.

The conference is for teens grade 9 to 12. It will be held March 30 at Spokane Falls Community College from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for teens and $10 for adults. That price includes lunch and the keynote speech by Paul Davis on “Love, Sex and Violence: Dating and Relating in the ‘90s.”

For registration information, call 625-6440 before March 23.
