Twin Falls Man Displays Himself In Store Window

Associated Press

A Twin Falls man was arrested after standing like a mannequin, naked from the waist down, in the front display window of a downtown carpet store.

Lonnie Dale Davidson, 40, did not say why he was wearing only a brown, long-sleeved flannel shirt Monday.

“I told him to leave the store,” said Jim Cleland, owner of Wholesale Carpets. When Davidson asked why, Cleland replied, “Well, because you’re naked.”

“He looked down as if to say, ‘Well, OK, I guess I am,’ and he started walking out,” Cleland said.

But Davidson was met at the front door by Twin Falls police officer Steve Benkula, who had been called by people at nearby Norm’s Cafe, Cleland said.

“No matter how much you’ve prepared yourself beforehand, you’re never really ready to see a naked man,” Benkula said.

He said Davidson was arrested after a brief struggle and cited for misdemeanor obscene public conduct.
