Young Skiers Competing At Silver
Kellogg’s Silver Mountain will be the site of the Silver Cup, a regional Mitey Mite Championship for ski racers ages 7 through 14, Saturday and Sunday.
Teams from Idaho, Washington, Montana and Canada are expected to compete in slalom and giant slalom divisions.
Preregistration cost is $50, which includes fees for both races, a three-day lift ticket, T-shirt and dinner Saturday night.

The Festival Cup will be held on March 25-26 at Schweitzer Mountain Resort.
Racers of any skill level ages 18 and up are eligible. Five-person teams, with at least one female, will compete in a spectator-friendly prostyle format (two racing simultaneously). The races are handicapped and open to alpine, snowboard and telemark entrants who will compete in dual super slalom.
Cost is $500 per team, which includes a Friday night reception, lunch and dinner on Saturday and a race pack with various donated items.

Basketball
The sixth annual Great 3-Point Shootout will be staged in the Dietrich Dome on the Walla Walla Community College campus Saturday.
Registration begins at 1 p.m., with competition at 2. Fee is $5, with shooters using 5 minutes to make as many 3-point shots as possible. Proceeds benefit the Veterans Hospital in Walla Walla.
Competition will be held in six age groups, from 14 and under through 50 and over. There are merchandise awards for age-group champions and runners-up. Info: (509) 525-5797.
