Lamb Player Of Year St. John-Endicott Sophomore Clips Stinson As Best Of B Girls

Sophomore Tricia Lamb of St. JohnEndicott was voted the girls Class B basketball player of the year in an Associated Press survey of Washington sportswriters.

Lamb, a 5-foot-9 wing, helped the Eagles claim fourth place at the State B tournament. She was the only sophomore selected as player of the year.

She beat out Davenport senior Jennifer Stinson, who led the Gorillas to third place at state and broke the Washington prep career scoring record for boys and girls. Stinson will play volleyball at Washington State University.

Other players of the year were: Donald Watts, Lake Washington, AAA boys; Jason Perry, O’Dea, AA boys; James Louis, Foster, A boys; Garrett Zwar, Pateros, B boys; Sonja Curtis, Prairie, AAA girls; Takiyah Jackson, Franklin, AA girls; and Nikki Fields, Cle Elum, A girls. All are senior except Zwar, a junior.

Area players selected to the fiveperson teams were: Matt Smith, Colville senior forward, AA boys; Ryan Floyd, Sprague-Harrington senior guard, B boys; Kelly Bartleson, Shadle Park senior guard, AAA girls; Stinson, center; and Chrissy Peterson, St. George’s senior forward; B girls.
