Man Critical After Being Hit By Train

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Deer Park man was critically injured early Friday after he was hit by a train as it went through the city north of Spokane.

Dan Early, 38, was flown to Deaconess Medical Center, where he underwent surgery for head and arm injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies said Early, who had been drinking, stepped in front of the Burlington Northern train just before 3 a.m. The train was northbound at Main and Crawford in Deer Park.

The roads were blocked for most of the morning as deputies and rescue workers combed the accident scene. There were no other injuries.

Early remained in critical condition Friday night.
