Men Arrested For After-Hours Golf
Three transients were arrested for trespassing early Tuesday, after Spokane police caught them playing miniature golf at the Riverfront Park Pavilion.
When the trio was confronted by police about 3 a.m., they said they found golf clubs and a ball nearby and thought the park was open 24 hours a day.
Police searched all three men and found a sheathed 15-inch knife on one.
Edward Stafford, 18; Timothy Mewes, 20; and a 17-year-old were booked into the Spokane County Jail for trespassing. Stafford also was arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon and on an unrelated warrant.
