Saddam’s Son Treated For Gunshot Wounds

Compiled From Wire Services

Saddam Hussein’s eldest son was being treated in an Amman hospital for gunshot wounds he reportedly suffered in an assassination attempt, Iraqi and Jordanian sources said.

Baghdad has not commented on Kurdish rebel reports that Odai Hussein, 31, was shot last week, and there has been no independent confirmation. Adel Ibrahim, the spokesman at the Iraqi Embassy, denied today that the Iraqi leader’s son was hospitalized in Jordan.

Jordanian sources said Odai, 31, underwent surgery Monday shortly after he was admitted to the Hussein Medical Center, one of the most sophisticated clinics in the Middle East.
