Pizza Hut Defies Trend To Lighten Up

Pizza Hut, flying in the face of the low-fat trend sweeping the food industry, will be cramming cheese into the crust of its latest pizza concoction.

The new product, called Stuffed Crust Pizza, will be available starting Sunday at 8,600 Pizza Hut restaurants and other outlets nationwide.

The pizza has soft mozarella cheese in its crunchy crust. The added cheese gives this pizza about 34 percent more fat and 27 percent more calories than a regular pizza, the company said Thursday.
