Woman In Critical Condition After Car Hit, Pushed Into Traffic
A 24-year-old Newport woman was in critical condition Saturday after her car was rear-ended by a pickup truck Friday afternoon.
Brigid Duncan was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center from the accident four miles north of Newport.
Duncan was northbound on state Highway 20 at 4:20 p.m. Friday, when she stopped her compact car to make a left turn, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Randal Flores, 25, rear-ended Duncan with his pickup, pushing her car into the oncoming lane of traffic. Duncan’s car then was struck by a second pickup, driven by Cary L. Smith.
Smith and Flores were not injured in the accident. Troopers did not say if any citations were issued.
