Arsonist Swings At Prosecutor
An arsonist sentenced to consecutive life terms in prison lunged at his prosecutor Thursday, landing one punch before court officers tackled him.
As Russell Regan was being sentenced for setting a fire that killed two children, he shoved aside a table and lunged at First Assistant District Attorney Martin Murphy.
Court officers tackled him, and the 22-year-old convenience store clerk was carried out in handcuffs and leg irons.
Regan was convicted March 15 of two counts of second-degree murder, which carries an automatic life prison sentence.
