Seattle Drops Track Bid

The Seattle Sports and Events Council has decided not to bid for the 1997 World Track and Field Championships.

The non-profit group decided earlier this week it would not bid because there wasn’t enough time to meet the deadline and Seattle lacks a facility that meets criteria set by the International Amateur Athletic Federation.
