College Graduations Get Started Friday

The college graduation season gets started Friday evening when 257 students in nursing and branch campus programs in Spokane receive their diplomas.

The commencement will be at 4:30 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center.

Other graduation ceremonies are planned for Saturday and Sunday at Gonzaga University, Whitworth College and the main campus at Washington State University.

Friday’s commencement will include the first five graduates in WSU Spokane’s doctor of pharmacy program.

Graduates include 99 students in nursing through the Intercollegiate Center for Nursing Education; 15 students in communications disorders from Eastern Washington University and 143 graduate and professional students from WSU Spokane.
