Phone Harasser Escapes From Prison
A convicted telephone harasser who escaped from a prison work detail remains at large, the Washington State Penitentiary said Friday.
Glenn E. Denison, 25, is believed to have walked away from the grounds Thursday after being assigned to clean the prison’s front gate.
Area law enforcement officers, two bloodhounds and a State Patrol airplane searched the area but turned up only his jacket and prison identification.
Capt. Mike Humphreys of the Walla Walla County sheriff’s office said Denison may have been picked up in a vehicle or been hitchhiking.
Denison had been at the prison since March, serving a sentence for three counts of telephone harassment in Clark County. His release date was December 1997.
