Catholic School Collection Begins Tuition Fund-Raiser

From Staff And Wire Reports

The fifth annual Catholic School Collection begins today with donations taken at Masses throughout the Spokane diocese.

The collection raises money for 18 schools in Spokane, Walla Walla, Pasco, Clarkston and ColtonUniontown.

Much of the money goes toward tuition assistance. More than 68 percent of Catholic school students in the diocese receive tuition assistance.

Last year, the collection raised $75,450. This year’s goal is $85,000, said Met Gibbs, diocesan school development director.
