Man Missing After Boat Capsizes

A Spokane man was presumed drowned Sunday morning after a fishing boat capsized on the Snake River, according to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office.

Charles C. Hardy, 36, still was missing Sunday night. Sheriff’s deputies, the Washington State Patrol and boaters searched extensively for Hardy.

Shela A. Scarvers, 36, of Spokane also was in the boat. She swam to shore and was treated at Whitman County Community Hospital in Colfax.
