Man Dies, Son Hurt In Fall From Cliff

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 28-year-old Darrington man died when he and his son apparently fell over a cliff during a weekend hike, officials said.

Searchers found the 3-year-old boy on a ledge at the bottom of a 100-foot cliff early Monday morning, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.

Sebastian Sheets was frightened, cold and wet, and “bruised from head to toe,” but otherwise OK, she said.

The body of Anthony D. Sheets was recovered later Monday morning from Clear Creek Canyon.
