At&T;, Time Warner Consider Alliance

AT&T Corp., the nation’s biggest long-distance telephone company, is reportedly talking with Time Warner Inc.’s cable television unit about a phone service alliance.

Time Warner, the nation’s second-biggest cable TV system operator, is said to be interested in getting the advantage of AT&T’s brand name as it begins offering local phone service to the first of its 9 million cable subscribers.
