Doctor Orders Fats Domino To Rest

Compiled From Wire Services

Fats Domino missed a London concert date Thursday on doctor’s orders.

The 67-year-old piano man was taken to a hospital Wednesday night after playing a 50-minute set in Sheffield, where he appeared with Chuck Berry and Little Richard.

“Doctors confirmed that Fats had a serious infection and he has been told that he must rest,” said promoter Jenny Halsall.

“They have given him strict instructions not to perform live until his condition improves or it will severely damage his health.”

Domino was resting at a hotel and it was not known whether he would be able to join Saturday’s final concert in Birmingham.
