Emi Endo Staff Writer

Two brothers told authorities that a man tried to lure them into a car on their way home from school Wednesday.

The boys, ages 9 and 12, were standing on the southeast corner of Broadway and Progress after leaving Progress Elementary School, said sheriff’s Lt. David Wiyrick.

A man in a yellow or tan vehicle pulled up to them, offering them money and candy and asking them to get into his vehicle.

They did not get in and the vehicle left northbound. The first numbers on the license plate were ‘43,’ Wiyrick said.

The man is described as white, about 19 years old, clean-shaven, wearing a black stocking or ski cap and a black, short-sleeve shirt with writing on it.
