Girl Reports Man Tried To Get Her In His Car

A 13-year-old Post Falls girl reported Monday that a man tried to entice her into his car as she walked home from junior high.

The girl told Kootenai County Sheriff’s officials that she was walking on Mullan Avenue at about 5 p.m. when a gray Toyota pickup truck pulled up nearby.

According to a sheriff’s report, the man in the truck tried to convince the girl to get in the truck with him. She refused and walked to a friend’s house, according to the report.

The pickup truck had a gray canopy and white pin stripes, according to the report.

The girl described the man as 50 to 60 years old with a medium build. He was clean-cut, with light-colored hair and spoke with a southern accent. She said his left arm was artificial and had a silver hook on the end and said his right hand had very short stumpy fingers.

Sheriff’s officials ask that any one with information call the department at 664-1511.
