Coeur D’Alenes Co. Reports Small Profit

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Coeur d’Alenes Co., a Spokane steel fabricator, reported a small profit for its second quarter and first six months of the fiscal year.

For the three-month period ended March 25, the company earned $123,434 on revenues of $3.2 million.

For the 1994 period, the company lost $2,090 on revenues of $2.6 million.

Net income for the first six months of the fiscal year was $121,459, or 3 cents per share, on revenues of $5.9 million.

In 1994, the company recorded a $17,353 loss on revenues of $5.4 million.

Coeur d’Alenes also disclosed the possibility it may expand on a site now occupied by a subsidiary, Stock Steel. Plans call for a $1.2 million, 42,000 square-foot facility that would complement the 120,000 square feet the company leases in the Spokane Industrial Park.

President Jim Coulson attributed the earnings turnaround to a decision to rededicate the company to its core business, the fabrication of heavy-plate products.
