Hoyer Elected Library Trustee
Bonner County voters have seated a new library trustee, electing Charlotte Hoyer by an overwhelming margin.
Hoyer defeated 13-year board member Florence Carter, 740 to 248. Carter had drawn criticism for her opposition to building a new Sandpoint library. She favored remodeling the existing facility and building branch libraries.
Hoyer was backed by library staff and a group called Friends of the Library because of her support for a new facility.
Hoyer has 40 years experience with libraries and is a media librarian for the Bonner County School District. She will serve a five year term.
